100 Years of Puccini
7pm Wednesday 27 November 2024
78 National Circuit, Deakin
Giacomo Puccini is one of opera's most well known Italian composers and a defining player the verismo, post-romantic style.
This concert serves as a tribute to Puccini's work and contribution to the artform 100 years after his death. It also serves as one of many fund raising opportunity for National Opera's 2025-2027 season.
No other setting in Canberra can provide a glimpse into Roman life much like the residence of the Italian Ambassador to Australia. The Ambassador and his family have generously offered to open up their home, modelled after a Roman villa, to National Opera for this concert. Great music will be accompanied by great art and artifacts from the Italian collection.
The evening is a unique opportunity to meet some of Canberra's best operatic talent in a cosy setting.
The evening will close with a supper, generously donated by the Embassy .
An evening not to be missed.
