“La Rondine” Postponed

National Opera 2020 inaugural production of Puccini’s “La Rondine” Postponed

The Board of National Opera has made the difficult decision to postpone the Company’s inaugural production of “La Rondine” postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Artistic Director, Peter Coleman-Wright AO said… ‘this was not an easy decision for the Board and myself to make. We held off for as long as we could, hoping we might be able to get “La Rondine” on the stage. However, we feel we needed to ensure the safety of everyone involved and follow the advice coming from the ACT Government‘.

“La Rondine” is to be scheduled for late 2021.

National Opera would like to thank audiences and supporters for their generosity and understanding during this time. All funds raised have been reserved for the 2021 production.

The further elements of the National Opera 2021 season are set to announced in September 2020.
